Going Through A Spiritual Transition

Ren January 26, 2022

Background

Spiritual awakening is a long-term process. It is associated with deep moral cleansing, complete transformation, hidden talents and skills, the growth of consciousness to a previously unthinkable level, and its expansion into new internal spaces. Therefore, these changes can affect a person critically, causing emotional or nervous disorders. Under ordinary clinical observation, they can be easily confused with disorders caused by another factor.

These spiritual disorders are becoming more common these days. More and more people appear, consciously or unconsciously, to experience internal spiritual stress. In addition, spiritual transition signs have become a more difficult and complex internal process than in earlier times. Therefore, it is advisable to give an overview of the nervous and mental disorders that can arise at various stages of spiritual awakening and show the most effective methods for overcoming them.

The spiritual transition period can be divided into five critical stages:

  • trouble before spiritual awakening;
  • problems that occur after awakening;
  • the recession that occurs after awakening;
  • psycho-emotional problems during awakening;
  • difficult emotional moments.

Signs Of Spiritual Transformation

Signs of Spiritual Transformation Let's Get Meta

How to know what are you experiencing right now? When we feel deep spiritual transitions in our lives, we need to be mindful that we may need extra support or guidance to help us through the process. The following signs may indicate that you might be going through a spiritual transformation:

  • Troubles before spiritual awakening. There are often misconceptions at this stage. Many people, not understanding the meaning of spiritual transition signs, consider this state of mind as a jumble of whims and painful fantasies. And, since it is very painful, they try to suppress it in every possible way. Fearing going crazy, they do everything possible to re-immerse themselves in a concrete reality, which, as it seems to them, threatens to elude them. In the course of this struggle, some, with redoubled zeal, rush into the whirlpool of life and eagerly seek new activities, excitements, and sensations. Sometimes, in this way, they manage to muffle their anxiety but almost never manage to get rid of it altogether. This anxiety wanders in the depths of their being, dissolves the foundations of everyday life, and after some time, with renewed vigor, breaks out onto the surface of consciousness. Now, this anxiety becomes even more painful; the inner emptiness is even more unbearable. Often a moral crisis is added to this suffering, and ethical consciousness awakens and deepens; a person is tormented by a heavy feeling of guilt and remorse for their past deeds. They judge themselves harshly and fall into complete despair; these are the first spiritual transformation symptoms.
  • Problems that occur after a spiritual awakening. The connection between the personality and the soul, the accompanying streams of light, joy, and active power bring a remarkable state of liberation. The internal struggle, suffering, neuroses, and physical shocks can suddenly disappear and often with such amazing speed that it becomes obvious that they do not come from moral reasons but from mental suffering. In such cases, signs of spiritual transformation are healing in the full sense of the word. However, awakening is not always so simple and harmonious. It can in itself cause complications, frustrations, and deviations. This applies to those people whose minds are not completely balanced, whose emotional life is overly exalted, the nervous system is too tender or sensitive to withstand a sharp increase in spiritual energies painlessly.
  • The recession occurs after a spiritual awakening. Sometimes, after a spiritual awakening, a recession usually occurs. A harmonious process of spiritual awakening causes spiritual transition signs, for example, a feeling of joy, enlightenment of the mind, awareness of the meaning and purpose of being. Many doubts are dispelled, and many issues are resolved, a feeling of inner confidence appears. All this is accompanied by the experience of unity, beauty, and holiness of life; the awakened soul pours out a stream of love to all people. Indeed, there is nothing more joyful for the heart and more comforting than contact with the awakened one, who is in such a state of grace. It seems that the old personality has disappeared, with all the unpleasant sides.
  • Psycho-emotional problems during a spiritual transition period. The transformation and rebirth of a personality is a long and complex process that includes various phases:
  • the phase of active sensation to remove obstacles to the flow of spiritual forces;
  • phases of the awakening of internal abilities, previously hidden or weakly expressed;
  • the phase during which the person must silently and meekly let the spirit cooperate with them, courageously and patiently enduring the inevitable suffering.

This is a time full of changes when light and darkness, joy and pain replace each other. Often, the strength and attention of a person at this stage is so absorbed in difficult and sometimes painful internal events that they do not cope well with the various requirements of the external life of the individual. The internal problems of a spiritually developing person are aggravated by misunderstanding and unfair assessments of family, friends, and even doctors. More than once, they hear disapproving remarks about the detrimental effect of spiritual aspirations and ideals, depriving a person of their dignity in practical life. Such judgments often cause deep depression, mental confusion, and despondency. These are common spiritual transformation symptoms that you cannot prepare for.

  • Psycho-emotional issues during awakening. When the transformation process reaches its climax, the decisive one, its last stage, is often accompanied by intense suffering and inner darkness. Outwardly, this condition resembles a disease that psychiatrists call depressive psychosis or melancholy.

Spiritual transition signs:

  • a state of severe depression up to despair;
  • a pronounced sense of one’s unworthiness;
  • acute self-condemnation is completely hopeless and damned;
  • a depressing feeling of paralysis of the mind, loss of willpower and self-control, resistance, and inhibition about any action.

Some of these symptoms may appear in a less pronounced form in the previous stages, without reaching, however, the intensity of the night of the soul.

This unique and fruitful experience, whatever it may seem, is not engendered by a purely morbid condition. It has spiritual reasons and deep spiritual meaning.

Several signs of spiritual transformation must be experienced on the path to enlightenment. To learn more about metaphysical change, listen to the podcasts.
